Temecula, CA (February 9, 2017) - On Thursday just before 11:00 a.m., Thomas Dietrich of Moreno Valley was driving his dump truck south on Los Gatos Road, approaching Carancho Road.
Dietrich’s dump truck crashed into the back of another stopped dump truck that has been experiencing mechanical problems. The driver of the stopped truck, Haroute Barbarian of Corona, had turned on the hazard lights and exited his vehicle. The stopped truck was pushed into oncoming traffic and other truck spilled asphalt onto the roadway.
Barbarian fell down an embankment while observing the accident and sustained minor injuries. Dietrich was pronounced dead about 30 minutes after the crash. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
