Lebec, CA (October 20, 2016) - Two major big rig truck accidents result in five trucks being destroyed near the Kern County line on Interstate 5.
At around 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, the first collision happened between two big rigs just south of Lebec in the southbound lanes of the I-5. About thirty minutes later, three big rigs intertwined and caught on fire on the I-5 near the Grapevine exit.
Firefighters from both Los Angeles county and Kern county arrived at the scene. One person was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. All five big rigs involved in the accidents were destroyed, leaving debris across southbound lanes 3 and 4 of the I-5.
