Hemet, CA (November 29, 2016) - At 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, three vehicles were involved in a fatal accident on Highway 79 near Lamb Canyon Road.

A Mitsubishi Montero was traveling north on the 79 when the driver attempted to change lanes after approaching a slow-moving truck in the fast lane carrying construction equipment. He nearly sideswiped a Chrysler 300 sedan and changed back to the fast lane, striking the truck. The Montero then overturned and rolled into the Chrysler.

A passenger of the Montero, Robyn Baylon of Hemet, was ejected from the vehicle and killed. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Montero suffered moderate injuries and the driver of the Chrysler and her child both suffered minor injuries.

Highway 79 was temporarily closed on the northbound side following the accident, causing traffic to back up beyond the Ramona Expressway. The highway was cleared of debris by around 7:20 a.m.
