Beaumont, CA (December 22, 2016) - At around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday, a vehicle was headed westbound when it lost control and collided with the center divider.

Four other cars tried to avoid this collision and ended up hitting each other. Soon after, a big rig truck attempted to avoid the accident and jackknifed, blocking the freeway. Another vehicle crashed into the center divider and flipped over.

The westbound side of the 60 was closed as emergency crews arrived at the scene. Eventually, enough wreckage was moved out of the way to let a line of cars stuck behind the accident pass by.

Due to the closure, traffic was rerouted onto the I-10 for several hours, which was moving slowly through Redlands.
