Los Angeles, CA (November 23, 2016) - On Wednesday at 6:43 a.m., a green ladder was reported to be blocking the carpool and left lane on the 405 just north of Santa Monica Boulevard in West Los Angeles.

The motorcyclist was said to be traveling at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a pickup truck, becoming ejected from the motorcycle. He was thrown from the motorcycle to the center divider and had traveled some distance. The accident resulted in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist, an Asian man from Los Angeles.

It is currently unclear whether the motorcyclist swerved around the ladder or if another vehicle swerved into him.

The left two lanes of the 405 were closed for two hours.
