Our 24 year old Santa Monica client was injured while taking a guitar lesson in the Venice, CA home of her teacher. The teacher was dog-sitting for his girlfriend. The dog viciously attacked and injured the woman, biting her in the face. She was taken by ambulance to UCLA medical center. Our client suffered lacerations to her lips and cheeks and will have permanent scarring. She also has TMJ, a jaw joint dysfunction, as a result of the complication of the injury.
Both the guitar teacher and the dog owner were named as defendants. The teacher had renter’s insurance with personal injury liability coverage. The dog owner did not have insurance.
We recovered the maximum amount available for our client…$101,000.
