Santa Fe Springs, CA (October 11, 2016) - One fatality after a fiery multi-vehicle collision on the 605 Freeway at about 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

Up to five vehicles may have been involved in the crash, leaving one vehicle in flames. Los Angeles County firefighters responded to the scene near Telegraph Road and extinguished the fire. The cause of the collision was not known immediately.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert and diverted traffic moving southbound from the 605 at Telegraph. Vehicles were shown on AIR7 HD video backed up for miles, with the closure on southbound lanes believed to continue until 8:30 a.m. The northbound section of the freeway remained open.
