North Hollywood, CA (December 12, 2016) - An accident was reported just after 5:00 a.m. on the westbound 101 in North Hollywood on Monday.
A BMW was hit by another vehicle near Laurel Canyon Boulevard. It is unclear if the BMW’s lights were on at the time of the collision. It is unknown whether the other driver applied their brakes before the accident.
The driver of the BMW sustained minor injuries and the driver of the other vehicle was fatally injured. It is unknown whether the deceased driver passed away at the hospital or at the scene of the accident.
The westbound lanes of the 101 were closed for about two and a half hours, causing traffic to back up for miles.
