Irvine, CA (January 14, 2017) - A 4-year-old boy, identified as Zhiyu Too, was crossing the street on his scooter at Lake Forest Drive and Romano when he was struck by a car.
The driver of the car, a Honda CR-V, drove the boy and his parents to Hoag Hospital Irvine and waited with them. The boy was pronounced dead on Saturday at 9:20 p.m. after being taken to Chapman Global Medical Center and finally Children’s Hospital of Orange County for his injuries.
The child was crossing the street between two gated communities when the accident occurred - Laguna Altura and Hidden Canyon. Detectives are working on the case to bring it to a close.
