It could.  The insurance company will probably argue that you weren’t hurt that bad.  From their perspective, if you were seriously injured, you would have followed through with the doctor’s treatment plan.  Also, if your case ends up going to trial, the fact that you stopped going to physical therapy might not sit well with the jurors.

If you had a legitimate reason for discontinuing your treatment, you need to explain it to your lawyer. However, it may be difficult to recover the compensation you were hoping for.
